ShopRite’s Computer Generated Ordering system is beneficial to
the company’s daily operations, especially in terms of productivity, sales and
forecasting. The system has changed very little since it entered the stores.
Upgrades for the system hasn’t been far out of ShopRite’s mind, however,
ShopRite has spent little money on new software/hardware for the system. Which
begs the question of when a newer system is essential for them. ShopRite
methods of “taking care of” the systems flaws and/or misses are becoming more strenuous.
But even these methods are not 100%. A Newer, more focused system should be
implemented to better serve the consumers and ensure stocks of products are
ideal. The company recognizes that their customers are changing, so they must
modify business processes to ensure maximum future sales and customer
satisfaction. ShopRite appears to be on the right track. Their efforts are
certainly the reason they are the highest grossing supermarket brand in New
Jersey.
